The TGA Board is seeking energetic and committed members to join the Board of Directors. Being a member of the Board of Directors is a great way to be involved in shaping the direction of the organization and provide leadership in representing the guardians and the clients they serve here in Texas.

TGA is implementing some exciting initiatives that the Board will be leading over the next few years including:

• Coordinating the 2024 TGA Conference.
• Developing and implementing live webinar events.
• Implementing regional in-person networking events where you can learn, while networking, with your guardian colleagues and service providers.
• Implementing a new membership system where you can communicate with other members on relevant issues.
• Implementing on-demand, digital education.
• Representing TGA at various partner events throughout the state.

The Board consists of twelve members that each serve three-year terms. Six seats are up for election this year.

The TGA Board is a working Board that is supported by a contracted administrative staff. Board members are expected to attend Board and organization-related events and to assist with the annual conference. Each Board member is expected to participate on at least one TGA committee.

Board member requirements include:

• Be a member of TGA in good standing.
• Attend quarterly Board meetings and the annual TGA Conference at their own expense.
• Participate actively in committees of TGA and recruit new members and sponsors for TGA events.
• Be available by email and conference calls for Board issues, check-in meetings, and/or votes between scheduled Board meetings.
• Attend the annual TGA Board Retreat held November 9-10, 2023, in Houston, TX.
